Lease to own

Lease to own: paying monthly for a domain

Use a premium name from day one and pay it off over 12 to 60 months, with no interest. How it works and when it makes sense.

A great domain can cost as much as a car. Lease to own lets you spread that over months instead of paying it all at once, and start using the name right away.

How it works

  • Pick a term the seller offers: 12, 24, 36 or 60 months.
  • Pay the first month by card. From then on, the domain points wherever you want.
  • Each month is charged automatically at 0% interest.
  • After the last payment, the domain is transferred to your registrar account.

What if I stop paying?

If a payment fails and isn't made within 15 days, the lease ends and the domain stays with the seller. That's why leasing suits a name you're sure about: it's a commitment, just a spread-out one.

When leasing makes sense

  • You're launching now and want the right name from day one.
  • You'd rather keep cash for the product than tie it up in a domain.
  • The name is a long-term brand, not a quick experiment.
