Advertise · For sponsors

Reach buyers, not random eyeballs.

GrabYourDot's audience is people who run sites — domain investors, indie developers, agency owners, SaaS founders — actively choosing a host, registrar, email provider, or JAMstack platform. That's a small audience by general-web standards, and a very high-intent one for anyone selling tools to people who build on the web.

[01] · Who reads us

Not a general-web audience.

Domain investors
Buying and selling .com / .io domains, evaluating registrars on TLD pricing and renewal honesty.
Indie developers
Shipping side projects, deciding between Vercel / Netlify / Cloudflare Pages or a small VPS.
Agency owners
Standing up dozens of WordPress sites for clients, weighing managed-WP cost vs reseller hosting.
SaaS founders
Choosing email hosting, custom domain DNS, and infrastructure they won't have to migrate off in a year.
[02] · What you can buy

Six surfaces, all clearly labelled.

Every sponsored slot is visually distinct from organic rankings and tagged with an AD badge or Sponsored chip. We never disguise a paid placement as an editorial result.

Home — above the fold

Where

Coral-bordered card directly above the top-rated rankings on grabyourdot.com.

Audience

Highest-attention slot on the site. Every visitor sees it.

Format

Card with brand name, tagline, score (or 'External' chip), and a Visit button.

Rankings — top of table (all)

Where

First row of the /rankings table, above every organic ranking.

Audience

Comparison shoppers actively choosing a provider.

Format

Table row with AD badge, brand name, sponsor note, and a Visit button.

Rankings — top of a filtered category

Where

Same as above, but only when readers filter by Hosting, Registrar, Email, or JAMstack.

Audience

High-intent, narrowed to the category that matches your product.

Format

Same table row, scoped to one filter view.

Two kinds of sponsors

Directory provider or external brand — both welcome.

If you're already in the editorial index, your sponsored row shows your score and a Review link alongside the Visit button. If you're an external sponsor (page builders, ecommerce SaaS, developer tools), your row shows an External chip and no score — we haven't benchmarked you, and we won't pretend we have.

Pixel-accurate previews.

Each preview below is the exact component readers see on the public site — same border, same tag, same Visit button. The mock data is filler; in production we'd render your brand here.

What each label means: AD = paid placement, rank-replaced. Sponsored chip = the row is paid, score (if shown) is editorial. External chip = not benchmarked by GrabYourDot, no score shown. All paid surfaces use the same coral border + tint so readers spot them instantly.
[04] · The editorial firewall

What sponsorship can't buy.

  • Your editorial score. Scores come from the methodology, full stop. Sponsors don't see the spreadsheet, they just see their score in the rate card.
  • Removal of negative findings. If our review names a problem (a 4× renewal jump, a broken support ticket), the problem stays on the page. We'll note when it's fixed; we won't pretend it wasn't there.
  • Camouflage as editorial. Sponsored rows are coral-bordered and tagged 'AD' or 'Sponsored.' Visually distinct on purpose.
  • A higher position in organic rankings. Sponsored slots sit above the table, not inside it.
[05] · FAQ

Questions sponsors actually ask.

Can I pay to improve my score?

No. Scores are derived from our methodology — uptime, performance, renewal pricing, and support — and re-benchmarked every 90 days. They aren't moved by commercial relationships at any price. Sponsored placements affect position only, never the score; this is enforced visually with the 'AD' / 'Sponsored' tag and stated in our affiliate disclosure.

Can I sponsor if I'm not in the directory?

Yes. External sponsors — SaaS tools, page builders, ecommerce platforms, etc. — can buy placements without being added to the editorial index. External slots show an 'External' chip and don't display a score, since we haven't benchmarked them.

How are placements priced?

Per surface, per week, or per month. Pricing depends on the surface, your category, and the run length. Request a quote and we'll send a rate card within 1 business day.

What do I get reported?

Live impression count, click count, and CTR — visible in your placement dashboard. We send a summary at the end of each billing period. No third-party trackers; everything is first-party.

Can my placement include a coupon URL?

Yes. Every placement can have an outbound URL override — typically a campaign-specific landing page or a coupon link with your affiliate ID baked in. Clicks 302 there instead of the default homepage.

Will negative reviews stay up while my placement runs?

Yes. We don't remove or soften published criticism in exchange for ad spend. If our review of your product highlights an issue, that issue stays on the page. We'll happily annotate when an issue is fixed — that's an editorial decision, not a commercial one.

Can I sponsor the newsletter?

Not yet. We may offer a single sponsored line at the bottom of The Hosting Memo in the future; if so, it'll be clearly labelled and bookable through the same channel.
