Affiliate Disclosure.
01The short version
GrabYourDot (operated by Nyhilism, Inc.) participates in affiliate programs run by web hosts, domain registrars, email providers, and JAMstack platforms. When you click an outbound link on this site and then purchase a product or service from the linked merchant, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.
Rankings, scores, and reviews are not for sale. A provider cannot pay us to appear, rank higher, or have a negative review removed. We disclose ownership ties (such as Newfold Digital brands) openly on every page where they apply.
02FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 — Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, and the FTC's September 2023 amendments to those guides.
Material connections we have to merchants are disclosed:
- On every outbound link via the
rel="sponsored nofollow"attribute, which is the W3C / Google-recommended marker for affiliate links. - Site-wide through this page, linked from the footer of every page.
- On review pages via a banner noting that the page contains affiliate links.
03Affiliate networks we work with
The merchants on GrabYourDot reach us through one or more of the following affiliate networks. The list grows as we add new providers; new networks will be added here within 30 days of activation.
- Impact (impact.com) — Cloudflare, Namecheap, and others.
- CJ Affiliate (cj.com) — Namecheap (legacy), GoDaddy in some regions.
- ShareASale — A2 Hosting, WP Engine, and similar.
- PartnerStack — Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, and similar SaaS / JAMstack platforms.
- Direct affiliate programs run by individual hosts or registrars (e.g. Kinsta, Porkbun, Hetzner).
Commission rates and structures vary by network and by merchant, and they can change at any time without affecting how a provider is ranked on this site.
04How affiliate commissions actually work
The mechanics, briefly:
- You click an outbound link on GrabYourDot to a merchant.
- The affiliate network sets a cookie in your browser (or records a click ID server-side) to attribute a later purchase back to us.
- If you complete a qualifying purchase within the merchant's attribution window — typically 30 to 90 days — the merchant pays a commission to the affiliate network.
- The network pays Nyhilism, Inc. after a clearance/holdback period (commonly 30–60 days, sometimes longer for chargeback protection).
The price you pay is identical to what you would pay if you went direct. We do not mark anything up.
05What we will NOT do
- Take payment to change a score, ranking, or verdict. Scores are derived from our methodology only. See our methodology for the inputs.
- Hide a negative review at a merchant's request. We have, and will, decline this when asked.
- Promote a "sponsored slot" without labelling it as sponsored, separately from the editorial rankings.
- Use affiliate cookies on internal navigation. Affiliate cookies are only set when you intentionally click out to a merchant.
- Misrepresent test results, uptime, or pricing to justify a higher commission tier with a merchant.
06Sponsored placements (when we add them)
We may, in the future, sell clearly labelled sponsored slots — for example, a "Sponsored" row at the top of a category page, or a featured banner. Any such placement will be:
- Visually distinct from organic editorial rankings.
- Labelled "Sponsored" or "Ad" in a way that complies with FTC and Google Search Essentials guidance.
- Excluded from the editorial score; sponsoring does not change a provider's quality rating.
As of the date below, no sponsored slots are sold. All visible placements are editorial.
07Click and conversion tracking
We track outbound clicks (the provider clicked, the page it was clicked from, anonymized referrer data) so we can publish honest engagement metrics and so we can match commissions paid to clicks generated. We do not track which individuals clicked. See our Privacy Policy for the full data handling details.
08Reporting an undisclosed material connection
If you believe a page on GrabYourDot has an undisclosed conflict of interest, please email editorial@grabyourdot.com and we will investigate and respond within 5 business days. Bringing a problem to our attention is appreciated; it helps us stay honest.
