VultrIndie

DigitalOcean alternative with more regions

[01] Verdict

Vultr's got a vibe like a scrappy underdog, and I mean that in a good way. They come out swinging with a $2.50 a month price tag that doesn't try to play you with a renewal hike. But don't let the low cost fool you, this ain't just some basement operation. With over 32 regions, Vultr is flexing on DigitalOcean when it comes to global reach. If you need to get your site in places like Mumbai, Seoul, or São Paulo, this might be your ticket.

Now, the polish ain't quite there yet. Compared to DigitalOcean, Vultr feels a bit rough around the edges. The control panel's not quite as slick, and the documentation could use a bit more meat. Plus, their API might have you scratching your head more often than not. But, real talk, if you're looking for bare-metal or GPU instances, they offer those too, which ain't something every cloud provider can say.

They had a little hiccup with some terms of service drama that got folks talking. They backtracked on it, but trust can be a funny thing to rebuild. If you're the type that likes to dig around and figure things out on your own, Vultr's value might just outweigh those bumps in the road.
