DynadotIndie

Indie, technical, transparent pricing, no upsells

[01] Verdict

Alright, so Dynadot is like your old-school indie rocker of domain registrars. Been holding it down in San Mateo since 2002, and you can feel that independent vibe in everything they do. No corporate overlords here, just straight-up domain biz without all the fluff. They keep it real with their pricing too, $10.88 across the board for registration, renewal, and transfers. No gimmicks, no upsells trying to catch you slipping.

Now, if you're someone who likes to have a whole bunch of domains, Dynadot got you covered with tools that make bulk management a breeze. They offer free WHOIS privacy and DNSSEC, which is refreshing when everyone else is nickel-and-diming for that. But I gotta say, their interface is like stepping back into 2010. It's like they saved on design to put more into functionality, which is cool if that's what you need.

The downside? This ain't for beginners or folks who want their hand held. The UI is dense, and support is strictly through email, so if you're looking for live chat help, you're gonna be waiting. Plus, their marketing site doesn't do them any favors, it might even scare off the less tech-savvy folks. But if you know your stuff, Dynadot's a solid player.
