NameSiloIndie

Cheap renewals are the actual feature

[01] Verdict

NameSilo been holding it down since 2009, keeping it real with those renewal prices. They're one of the few domain registrars out there not trying to blindside you with price hikes after the first year. You get your .com for about $12 year one, and they keep it steady at $12 for years two and three. That's $36 total for three years, which is a rare deal in this game.

They throw in free WHOIS privacy with every TLD, and that ain't something to sneeze at. You also get free email forwarding and DNS hosting, which means they ain't trying to nickel and dime you every step of the way. Plus, they got API access if you need to manage a bunch of domains, but don't expect their DNS to be a speed demon, it's solid but not the fastest out there.

Now, I'm gonna keep it 100 with you, their UI is straight up ugly, looking like it got stuck in 2012. And if you need help, it's email or ticket support only, so don't expect live chat speed. They're independent, which is cool, but don't expect much from their add-on services like hosting or SSL. They ain't the strongest, but if you just need a domain and ain't looking for surprises, NameSilo's got you.
