NameSiloIndie

Cheap renewals are the actual feature

[01] Verdict

NameSilo's .com is around $11.79 year one and roughly the same at renewal — the renewal number is the differentiator. Most registrars hide a 50–100% hike in year two; NameSilo doesn't, and they've stuck to it since founding in 2009.

Free WHOIS privacy on every TLD, free email forwarding, free DNS hosting, and no upsells at checkout. The custom DNS service is competent (not Cloudflare-fast). API access is included for bulk operations.

Downsides: the UI is genuinely ugly — worse than Dynadot, much worse than Porkbun — and the dashboard feels like 2012. Support is email/ticket only. The company is independent (Toronto-listed, NAME.V) but small.
