German privacy mail with a real Office suite bundled

[01] Verdict

Mailbox.org been around the block since 1989, so they know a thing or two about email hosting. Based outta Berlin, they offer a solid privacy-first service with a full office suite bundled in. For $3.20 a month, you get their Standard plan which includes 10GB of email storage, an extra 5GB for your files, and the whole OX App Suite for your documents and spreadsheets. Real talk, that's a good deal for folks who want a little more than just email.

These guys are rockin' 100% renewable energy, which is always a plus. Plus, being in Germany means you get those strong data privacy laws backing you up. They even got full PGP support, including browser-based Mailbox Guard encryption, so your emails stay locked up tight. And if you're into custom domains, you're covered on the Standard plan without any extra fees.

Now, it ain't all sunshine. Their OX App Suite webmail feels a bit like it's stuck in the past, and don't expect any fancy native mobile apps. You're gonna have to roll with CalDAV/CardDAV/IMAP for mobile sync. Also, if you're sending calendar invites to Google or Outlook, sometimes things get a little wonky with free/busy info. But if you can work around those quirks, Mailbox.org offers solid value for the privacy-minded.
