Surge.shIndie

One-command CLI static deploys, free for unlimited sites

[01] Verdict

Surge.sh is the simplest static host that exists: `npm install -g surge`, run `surge` in a directory, you get a live URL. Free tier includes unlimited publishing, unlimited sites, custom domain, and basic SSL. Surge Professional is $30/month for HTTPS enforcement, custom certs, redirects, password protection, and CORS rules.

No Git integration, no build pipeline, no preview branches, no dashboard. You build locally and push. That minimalism is the point.

The price-to-feature ratio on Pro is bad compared to Cloudflare Pages free or Netlify Pro — you're paying for the CLI ergonomics and the small-company independence. The product hasn't seen major feature work in years; treat it as a stable utility, not a growing platform.
