Squarespace Domains

The Google Domains successor, Squarespace-priced

[01] Verdict

Squarespace acquired Google Domains in 2023 and finished migrating all customers by mid-2024. The product is now "Squarespace Domains." A .com is roughly $20/year with flat renewal at the same price — honest, but pricier than Porkbun or Cloudflare.

Free WHOIS privacy is included, the DNS UI inherited from Google is clean and predictable, and there are no upsells at checkout. Pricing is the same year one and year five.

The downsides: Squarespace will obviously upsell you the website builder, the domain product is clearly a secondary line for them, and roadmap pace has slowed since the migration completed. Some former Google Domains features (Google Workspace integration, Dynamic DNS) shipped at parity but feel less loved.
